default-16x9

Training managers and providers should ensure that they are familiar with the recently published government report setting out their education and training agenda for the year ahead.

The Education and Training Development Agenda: 2000-01 is a DfEE information document which summarises development work underpinning the Government's priorities for modernising and energising national systems.

These Development programmes typically promote and carry forward improvements in the design, management, organisation and delivery of education, training and employment services, including innovation and preparation, pilot testing, pump-priming and implementation initiatives.

The Development Agenda is in two parts. Part One provides an overview of purpose, audience and content, together with information on major over-arching issues. Part Two sets out, within each of three major DfEE Objectives

  • strategic priorities for action in the fields of education, training, lifelong learning and employment
  • related 2000-01 development programmes.

There is a comprehensive index to the reports on the website, and copies of the reports can also be downloaded.

A summary of the whole report is also available online.
