An accredited coach and experienced learning and development professional, I support adults who have experienced a life-changing serious health issue to rebuild and renew their lives, including returning to work, through 1-1 coaching and training.
Individual coaching is tailored to the needs of the individual and the aim is to ensure their return to work is a successful one and sustainable tools are developed to manage any ongoing challenges. It can involve helping the individual to manage the return to work process, developing strategies to manage one’s energy and stress levels, managing the impact of the health issue, enhancing relationships, managing one's career, developing productive partnerships with healthcare providers, designing a 'new normality' for one’s life and a plan to achieve it and much more.
I also offer training for HR and line managers on the subtle and unseen aspects of the return to work process as they can have the biggest impact on the employer-employee relationship, the success of the transition and the individual’s future performance. These include what the person returning to work can often be experiencing from a psychological perspective, and identifying individual and societal approaches, assumptions and beliefs about health, illness and disability.
Previously, as Chair of the Transverse Myelitis Society, a UK national charity of 1,800+ members, I led a committee of 6 trustees to set strategic direction, ensure good governance and manage daily operations.
As a learning and development professional, I have 15 years broad L&D experience in professional services (accountancy, investment management, property and legal sectors) in the UK, Central & Eastern Europe and Kazakhstan. I partnered with businesses at operational and strategic levels to develop bespoke interventions that were firm or department wide. Areas of specialisms include coaching and mentoring, management and leadership development, performance management including designing appraisal processes and competency frameworks, and designing and managing training curricula. I enjoy helping new managers to heads of teams/departments develop their people management abilities with the goal of building employee engagement, productivity and wellbeing. And facilitating the 70-20-10 model by training people how to learn about their learning.
