Medical Terminology

default-16x9

I have been asked if I could put together a short (max 1 day, preferably half a day) course on medical terminology. This is for people who work in the NHS but are not medical or nursing staff. I know most of the terminology as I used to be a medical secretary years ago but would welcome ideas on how to put it together into an interesting session. I need the session to be lively and have lots of participation. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

  1. Medical Terminology

I used to run a half day course in my previous job. One of the activities I used to do was to split the attendees into 2 or 3 groups, and ask them to draw an outline of a body. I then gave them a bundle of small laminated cards that had the names of various medical conditions, operations and specialities on them. they had to stick the cards onto the correct part of the body. Then we would go through the list and see how many people had got right. This activity used to get a great response as it was fun to see where on the body the cards were put and how wrong they sometimes were! I also have various handouts and guides that may be useful. Drop me an email if you would like them and I will dig them out for you.

  2. Thanks Lisa but problems with email
Lisa – Thank you for responding. I have sent a reply (saying yes please to your offer) and it has been bounced back as undeliverable – recipient name not recognised. Would you email me off line?
